japandi bedroom makeover
First things first. Japandi.
“Japandi” is a combination of Scandinavian and Japanese design. Scandinavian has been all the rage, over the last few years, but I think people wanted a little more warmth and tradition. It’s neutral, organic, layered, vintage, but still new and minimal. Some examples below. Amazing right?!
I’ve been obsessed with Japandi and instantly had a vision of a bedroom makeover when Loloi let me preview a new rug collection (launching today!) a few months ago. I fell in love with one of the rugs immediately. Ohhhh this rug. You guys. I’ve had many MANY rugs over the years. This is my absolute favorite. It’s Japandi. The quality is amazing. The perfect thickness, the ease of vacuuming, the COLOR. THE PATTERN. THE FACT THAT ITS NOT FULL OF SHARP WEEDS AND STICKS (if you know you know) UGHHHH its so good.
In true Farah fashion I sold our perfectly good bed that day and bought a $30 metal bed frame off facebook marketplace.
This bed frame is affordable and pretty popular so I challenged myself to turn it in to something amazing!
I bought a 4x8 piece of wood from home depot and drew a curved shape on it. My husband cut it, and we upholstered it! I’ll be making a reel this week showing it in detail! All in all, the bed was less than $200 (got a fancy fabric that was about $150)
Above is my original mood board, and (drumroll) below is what I ended up with!
Are you obsessed?! I’m obsessed.
Thank you for the beautiful rug Loloi and Chris Loves Julia!
